Do you know about the Hawaiian Islands?
Hawaii islands are located in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, approx 2.400 miles south east of California.
Hawaii is actually made up of hundreds of smaller islands. There are six islands that are the most popular: Oahu, Maui, Kauai, Molokai, Lanai and Hawaii Big Island. Each of them has their own unique characteristics and interesting places to visit. Some of the natural elements you can find in each of them include: active volcanoes, streams of lava, tropical forests, beautiful beaches, sugar cane fields, pineapple plantation and amazing historical places.
Most of the people visit one or two islands, and they can move from one to another using the local flight airlines (Aloha and Hawaiian Flights) which have frequent flights and at convenient prices.

KAUAI: It is the oldest island in Hawaii, with fabulous landscapes (dormant volcano, endemic wildlife, caves of ferns, cliffs) and nice beaches. It is known to be one of the more quiet islands so if you are looking for peace, calmness and no rush this is your option. At this island you can experience the Waimea Canyon which is a faithful replica of the Grand Canyon of Colorado.
The Waialeale volcano in the island built up a closed lagoon plenty of different kind of herbage and animals. Some famous movies have been filmed at this wonderful place such as Jurassic Park, Raiders of the lost Ark, among others.
OAHU: The commercial center of Hawaii. One of its famous beach is the Waikiki , located behind the Diamond Head. (extinguished volcano) Honolulu, Oahu capital city, is a vibrant city with modern buildings. Some of the recommended places to visit while you are here is the Aloha Tower , the Bishop Museum, the Hawaiian Maritime Center, Diamond Head y Punchbowl Volcanoes.
This city also experience the rumblings of volcanoes and the fantastic thing is that sand at the beach is can be found amber, white, grey or even black due to those rumblings.
This island not only preserves the history of all these islands but also is the center of nightlife, and millions of tourists visit it every year.
MOLOKAI: known at the Friendly island. It is recognized due to pineapple cultivation &. coffee
The island is recognized as the one with secluded beaches and some activities are the fishing and walking. It’s not very visited by tourism and it doesn’t have much infrastructure for tourists.
MAUI: Is the second biggest island from Hawaii, It is known as The Valley Island since it is located between two long and extinguished volcanoes (Haleakala & Puu Kukui). It is the famous place for windsurfers due to its incredible sea waves.
Probably it is the city better prepared for tourists activities such as windsurf, sailing, snorkeling, diving and cycling. Also for seeing whales.
Some attractions to include when visiting Maui cover: Haleakala National Park (where the worlds highest volcanoes is placed), Iao Needle (a needle of green lava can be observed) , Wailea Beaches and Paluea (where it is possible to see dolphins)
LANAI: It happens to be visited by independent tourists due to its incredible pineapple plantation (Hulopoe). During the past years, a lot of hotels have been built due to its proximity to Maui.
Last but not least, Hawaii has the HAWAII’s BIG ISLAND. As its name says, it is the bigger island of the group and it has a diversity of geography including deserts, forests, volcanoes even mountain with snow on the peak. You don’t have to miss the Volcanoes National Park which includes two active volcanoes Mauna Loa and Kilauea. It is said that the purest air is found on the top of this volcanoes, although in some opportunities due to the winds the island acquires the sulphurous fog known as “vog”.
Hapuna Beach is the most popular beach of the island appropriate for swimming and diving. It is located inside the Honaunau National historical Park, where also are several temples.
The Big Island maintains authentic habits from the polynesian culture and you can find black sand beaches, the Akaka waterfalls, and don’t forget that inside the MAuna Loa it is placed one of the most important astronomical observatory of the world.
